Today I went to a gem shop to look for tourmalines, but there was an extremely limited selection. Based on my jewelry inventory it is easy to tell that they are one of my favorite stones. Tourmalines are found in several amazing colours (red, pink, green, yellow, blue) and either faceted or cabochon cut. Each stone seems to be unique, almost like it has its own personality, and is an integral part of any design they are set in to.
Needless to say, I didn't purchase any and will have to look at another store in the near future.

- I have been making metal jewelry for over six years, designing and creating new pieces all the time. I mostly work with sterling and fine silver adding brass or copper for accent at times. I am planning to start using some gold in my designs soon. I set precious and semiprecious stones in many different and creative ways and absolutely love both faceted and cabochon tourmalines as their colours are extraordinary and varied.
